Highlights:

Friday night. After the win at Stamford, "the lads" - Messrs. Herring, Taylor, Thompson and Knitters - went to boogie on down at the Central night club. At c. 3:00 a.m. the first three returned to their accommodation. Knitters decided to stay on, or more likely, was left on his own, because of his "embarrassing" style of dancing. He appeared at breakfast looking like nothing on earth but still smiling.

Saturday. Mike Ireland, umpire extraordinaire clad in black leather, also appeared. He may lay claim to the world record for the longest "pee on a boundary" at South Luffenham. Shortly after which:

Pip fell over for no reason whatsoever at the non striker's end - copious quantities of Old Speckled Hen at lunchtime may have been contributory. He tried to regain his composure by pretending NOTHING had happened! Ha Ha!

Thompson and Lilley cleaned up at South Luffenham. Thompson 5 - 22, Lilley 4 - 17. Stuart also top scored with 32. Lilley blobbed second ball.

The Hawk's pink shirt re-appeared.

Mike Ireland, yes, him again, this time tried to have another pee in the kitchen of an Italian restaurant. He was pointed in the right direction obviously because of the size of his salami.

Sunday. Messrs. Elson and Haynes opened at North Luffenham with 72 for the first wicket.

Sandy batted aggressively for 18 but failed to overtake extras of 27 (23 wides). He scored 4 twos and was asked frequently if he required oxygen to reduce the puce colouring of his face.

The Tour Secretary, being spare and more aimless than usual that day, played for North Luffenham bringing them to 9. He took a most spectacular full length diving catch on the boundary to dismiss Peter Romyn. Mr. Romyn took it in good heart and claimed that an early morning encounter with Mrs. Romyn reduced the power of his shot.

Mrs. Romyn celebrated her birthday.

Mr. Romyn, following his capture of a "pair", was awarded the Club's most prestigious trophy - 3 Willy Shaghappy condoms in Strawberry, Orange and Banana flavours. He said later they made excellent ear plugs!?!

During non playing moments, Martyn, Nathan and Sandy bewildered the assembled throng with their intimate knowledge of the most obscure aspects of the English language. If you want to know more ask them, not me!
