Preseason Party

After a richly deserved break, this year it's all around to the Chairman's on 11th April for the traditional pre-season party - doors open at 12:30, although a few stragglers from the final session of nets may be a little delayed...

Thanks to Sandy and Mary who were back in the hosts chairs this year after a well-deserved break and co-ordinated a curry extravaganza of the highest standard to welcome in the new season. In a welcome break with tradition there appear to be no surviving photographs of the occasion!

Quiz Night

The Quiz this year was held again at the Village Hall on Saturday 16th October. Despite early concerns over the number of teams, the Hall was pretty full for Simon Drage's debut as Quiz-master, taking over the reins at short notice. To his eternal credit, he kept calm in the face of some increasingly hostile heckling to deliver an interesting and challenging quiz, although to be fair my attention waned a bit as I slid inexorably down the leaderboard. Chief snapper Paul Henderson was back on form as can be seen here.

Annual Dinner

In another break with tradition, this year's Annual Dinner was held at Kenilworth Wardens Cricket Club on Friday 21st January. A modest well-behaved crowd were well fed and watered and entertained by speeches from the Captain, who reflected on the glories of the past season (rather glossing over the tragedies!), and the Chairman who set his recollections of tours past to (broadly) iambic pentameter - fortunately he had his glasses to hand.

Doubtless, given the lenses being pointed everywhere, suitable photographs will be emerging from the digital darkrooms in the near future.
