Preseason Party

Just to prove to you I don't have the powers of Nostradamus, the preseason party was held at the Porridge Pot, with the resultant debauchery now documented in the gallery.

6 a side

The annual 6 a side competition was completed on Saturday 24th June and after a keenly fought day's cricket, Martins beat Lemmings in the main Final to secure their place as champions. In the plate Final Barford (after losing to Martins in the first round) overcame the challenge of Gattling-Fenn to win. Thanks for all the teams who entered and to Mushie Jones for running the event and providing a gallery of photos. Simon Hawkins, revealing hitherto concealed talents, has also created a no-holds barred docu-drama of the plate Final (well, the good bits anyway!), which you can find here...

Quiz Night

Martin Lusby will be donning his Quiz Master's outfit (choose your favourite from his selection above!) again this year and sorting the intellectual wheat from the chaff at this year's Quiz to be held at the Barford Memorial Hall on Saturday 30th September, starting at 7:30 prompt. Tickets are available as usual from Mike Suffield at the bargain price of £7.50 per hear to include a two-course dinner. There will also be a bar in case your braincells are in need of further punishment.

As our cherished (surely perished, ed.) Secretary so lucidly put it "Quizmaster Lusby will again be stretching every sinew in your brain, so now is the time to start eating fish, hanging upside down and reading the Encyclopaedia Britannia."

Please come along and support the club at what is always a fun-filled and action-packed evening - and I promise not to win it this year, OK?

Annual Dinner

...was finally held on Friday 23rd February at the Lord Leycester Hotel in Warwick. We numbered in the mid 30's again for another evening of convivial chattering, dining, reminiscing about the past and debating the future. Skip recovered sufficiently from his devestating attack of man-flu and once again gave an acerbic summary of the seasons ups and downs - although in retrospect it did seem to be mostly downs. Sandy, as is his wont, lapsed into poetry with a well-crafted and pointed version of Kipling's classic "If...", although he modestly refused permission to expose his work to the wider(!?) audience of the interweb - ever mindful of the current libel laws, I can hardly blame him!

Captains prizes were awarded to the following ( I blame the medication!) :

Batting Bowling Clubman

Peter Romyn

Tony & Chris Timms Richard Jones

Mushie Jones provided the images once again and the fruits of his labours are on show here
