Now I've finally put the central heating on, the season can finally be declared over(!). Statto has been frenetically dechipering the hieroglyphics in the scorebooks and shuffling his abacus for the last couple weeks to bring you the unbounded joy of this years statistics. They'll no doubt provide much grist to the mill of bar discussions over the dark winter months whilst all true cricketers are in hibernation (or at least suspended animation).

In other news, the Quiz Night is imminent (Saturday 17th October in Barford Village Hall) and with Martin Lusby back in the chair we're sure to be entertained by a range of questions on quantitative easing and the history of Leicester Tigers. Make sure you get in touch with the Social Secretaty elect Paul Henderson and bag the table nearest the bar...

There is also the small matter of the AGM on Monday 26th October which will see some minor adjustments of portfolios akin to the shuffling of deckchairs on the Titanic. Martin Lusby will be retiring from the post of Treasurer after a selfless lifetime (well it felt like it!) of service, and will be replaced by Phil Morris (aka Hair Bear) unless the membership rises up in revolt and elects some other mug someone else. Our over-burdened Secretary should have added to your spam folder by circulating minutes, agendas and nomination forms, so make sure you come along and have your say, and if nothing else find out what on earth the "committee" does all year..
