As the season meanders along it's merry way, and with England on the verge of regaining the Ashes (albeit excepting the small matter of dismissing 10 Aussies!), a couple of news items for your delectation.

In response to a request from the website, Barford recently took on a Windscreen 11 at Harbury in a midweek thrash. Not only was a great game of cricket played and enjoyed, but a few ales were also supped as the match ended in a tie. In true Barfordian tradition, those monitoring the run-chase neglected to inform the batters that a hard-run three off the last ball would have won the game rather than strolling an ambled two. Still a tie is as good as a win given the results we've has so far this year! Although in the post-match photo below I can count 11 Barford players and only 8 opposition, which seems a fair handicap we should maybe impose on future opponents...

In his extra-curricular surfing, our tour secretary also turned up the following link which may provide some happy memories of racing around the field at Hareway Lane whilst full of beer and burgers - happy days :-)
