Another year finally bites the dust, and I'm afraid it's been the usual old story of some steady bowling, some spectacular batting collapses and rather too much rain! If this is what global warming has in store for us, we may as well all take up water polo now. At least Statto has got his finger out this year, and the full horror that is Barford Cricket club statistics is available for inspection (and no doubt the odd dispute here and there)

We have to roundly congratulate Chris O'Reilly on his first year of captaincy, who has maintained a healthy level of enthusiasm (sometimes you just wish he had a tail he could wag) despite presiding over decidely mixed results and becoming a father for the third time. There's even a healthy rumour doing the rounds that he might be persuaded at the forthcoming AGM to continue at the helm next year. At least the rigours of captaincy haven't unduly affected his batting average...

On the bright side, although we're rubbish at cricket at least we can hold a quiz night, so please get your names to Mike Suffield asap unless you want to end up out in the car park.
