Well we finally got our hands on some silverware at last! A doughty performance by the Hares was summarised by the Sec (who was dragged in to make up the numbers for the final) as follows:

"You'll no doubt be glad to hear that we comfortably overcame Massey Ferguson and Leek Wootton to win the sixes last night. It was a good all-round team performance with bat, ball and in the field. Star of the show, as always, was the bald (no need for 'ing' any more) maestro Paul Johnstone, who retired on 25 in each of his 3 innings in the tournament. It was only fitting that he took a hat trick bowling the last over of our final game - unfortunately that didn't happen because captain Griffin "fluffed a dolly". PJ wasn't to be denied, however, and had to make do with 3 wickets in 4 (actually 5, ed.) balls.

It probably wasn't the toughest opposition that we've encountered in a six-a-side tournament, but very enjoyable none the less. Thanks to everyone who came along to support us (namely Richard Jones). Hopefully there will be some photos on the website in due course."

Indeed there are (thanks to Mushie as usual):

The victorious six (some more excited than others!). Paul Henderson and Richard Savage, who were in the team that beat the defending champions on Monday, had subsequent engagements...

All the gory details - sadly not included in the averages(!)

Thanks for Phil Morris for suggesting the following uncanny resemblances...

Ben getting some practice for this year's club awards - don't worry, he didn't make a speech!

Many thanks to all at Leek Wootton (especially Tony Farndon) for organising such a splendid event, even if the rules were a bit weird, and we'll look forward to defending our title next year!
