In yet another shock development, Barford extended it's winning streak to three games - a sight not seen aound these parts since the fag-end of the 2002 season. It look's like the (present) skipper intends to go out with a bang, as evidenced by his increasing influence as an all-rounder (Ed. shurely shome mishtake?) and his "Tinkerman" tendencies as a selector - extending to sacking the entire team whilst they were basking in the glory of another hard-fought victory at the weekend. And all whilst on a diet of plums and yoghurts...

Following successful run-chases against Woodbourne and Henricians (one of the few times we've chased down scores of 200+), it was revenge over Ansley for an early-season drubbing with some lusty hitting followed by disciplined bowling and error-free out-cricket with several excellent catches showing the benefits of coach Haynes religious approach to training on Wednesday evenings.

On the social side you should have inked in your diaries for Saturday 13th October the annual extravangaza that is the Cricket Club Quiz Night (@Barford Memorial Hall), and Suffers is currently waiting poised by his Amstrad emailer waiting for your call/fax/email requesting tickets at the bargain price of £7.50 per head to include a tasty 2-course dinner served up by the WAGS. There will also be a cash bar in case the grey cells need a little lubrication...
