Now that the night's are drawing in and the autumnal chill is in the air, Barford's cricketers have cast off their usual reticence to record back-to-back victories. In yet another shock development, it was revealed (at the Joey, of course, where most of the village gossip(s) can be found) that not one but two of Barford's finest have celebrated "significant" birthdays recently. Tim Jolly reached the prime of his life at 40, but was trumped by Martin Lusby's confession of reaching the venerable age of 60, and thereby becoming eligible for his winter fuel allowance, free bus pass and a runner whenever that calf twinges again. Congratulations lads- but where were the invites to the parties??
