Now that the night's are drawing in and the autumnal chill is in the air, Barford's cricketers have cast off their usual reticence to record back-to-back victories. Although Ansley rather spoiled the hatrick this weekend, the results page is looking a but healthier than it has been recently. See the results page for more information...

Of more immediate concern is the forthcoming Quiz Night (see the Social page), and your presence is duly requested for a evening of "braintertainment" at the hands of your genial(!?) host Martin Lusby. Tickets are available from Mike Suffield and are literally trickling out of the door, so make sure you cheer him up by booking today.

In another shock development, Mike has gone on a(nother) sponsored diet to get in trim for the new season and start turning those 1s into 3s. Please help keep him off the lager and scratchings by offering to sponsor him - remember your skipper is not just for match days...

In yet another shock development, it was revealed (at the Joey, of course, where most of the village gossip(s) can be found) that not one but two of Barford's finest have celebrated "significant" birthdays recently. Tim Jolly reached the prime of his life at 40, but was trumped by Martin Lusby's confession of reaching the venerable age of 60, and thereby becoming eligible for his winter fuel allowance, free bus pass and a runner whenever that calf twinges again. Congratulations lads- but where were the invites to the parties??
